Around what rating would you guys be on chess.com I usually hover between 1800-1900. But there are a lot of cheaters these days. I get points back regularly when the anti cheat catches these motherfuckers

I started my chess journey whilst living with my brother for a short while. I used to be around 700-900 rating and he used to clap me every game. I didn’t know anything about strategy and what not, but with little knowledge about how to develop your pieces and not trading your pieces when your opponent for example has a weak bishop because he can’t move along diagonal because of the pawn chain goes a long way. Find an opening line you like and learn different variations of it. Like I used to play “Sicilian dragon” just because of the name, but I’m more of a Caro Kahn kinda guy today

Just pick e4 or d4 and learn an okay 3-5 move response to whatever you encounter. Openings are less important than learning tactics. Grind tactics and you’ll gain a lot of insight into how to play openings and stuff without “knowing” openings

Chesstempo is the best app for it but you can use lichess or chess.com puzzle features too
The best way is to get a book so that it forces you to visualize things but any of those online options will help a lot
Also hmu if you wanna play a game and we can run through each others mistakes and stuff. Reviewing your own games is the single best way to get better

Thank you for your help, I’m gonna get a book sometime I think. Also I wouldn’t mind playing chess with you but my chess.com account uses my real name so when I have time I might make a new account with Marble name. But I’ll let you know

Word if you’re going to get a book I recommend this one amazon.com/Chess-5334-Problems-Combinations-Games/dp/1579125549
Starts really simple and progressively builds on each motif to make things more difficult. It’s used in a lot of chess training programs
But yeah that’s what’s up man I don’t plan much anymore but I’m KulakSlayer1917 on lichess
I’m about to add you bro
Bet just added ya. Let's have a good game brotha
