Digging into the lyrics + fortunate timing. I was going through my separation at the time and one of my heroes dropping an album about focusing on yourself and letting people go for your own mental was so uncanny. Like Mirror? Come on. It's like Kendrick was talking to me.
Expectations are also a b**** too, I didn't want songs like Rich Spirit or Die Hard, I wanted something with more bars, but I came to like those songs when I appreciated them for what they do well rather than what they aren't. Hell, I played Rich Spirit constantly with time and I straight up love Purple Hearts.
