They're fairly common in my city, as it is in a lot of military cities. I, myself, am the result of one (Black and white), so is my girl (Black, Asian, and white). I've mostly dated Black or at least half-Black women, but I've also dated an Alaskan native and a Samoan. Those experiences (in regards to race, at least) were largely positive.

I dated a few white girls briefly. Two out of three of those experiences had some race related issues. The first girl was cool, but when her ex found out he got mad jealous and began harassing me and sending wild ass messages saying s*** like, "at least I know my father," etc. The second girl was really cool. Her and her family were immigrants from England and Ireland, but they were really cool. I never noticed anything problematic with them. I just had to break it off because she was getting super attached way faster than me. The third girl was a big yikes. One day she decided that she could say nigga because and I quote, "my boyfriend is Black." I broke up with her that night. There was other s*** with her too, but that's the one that came to mind first and I don't feel like typing anymore.

I never dated a white girl (hit a few) but stayed at a friends white gf’s parents house with him in South Georgia…but we was in a similar black populated area so I didn’t feel a tension around me or nothing. I could tell her parents were cool though.
