yeah tbh outside of the bad mixing, the awful drums on Falon and Rough Love, this is excellent

but seems there are alternate versions and further finished versions of other songs and stuff, so yeah I am looking forward to what else we get from here, whether by leakers or the studio themselves

Back in 2012 they wanted a song to promote the album.
To jay, it went down to "how am I gonna produce a single radio worthy without compromising my vision.". Several attempts were made, the album changed and faded away. Then jay moved on.

Most likely because there were tracks on AWT that were floating around the internet for years prior to that dropping. Of course the inclusion of Shiny Suit Theory also gives your idea some validity.

I think AWT was Jay Electronica and Roc Nation meeting him half way. He wanted to release an album how he wanted, and the label wanted him to get some mainstream appeal. The conclusion they came to was Jay Electronica making something of a collab album with Jay Z.

I still like AWT for what it is and had it as one of my favorite hip-hop releases this year, but I definitely understood why people were disappointed. Not enough for people to be calling it trash because it's far from it.
