Just realized if this actually drops then that means we're going to get master and different version of act 2 in the movie right

I love the album and what it is.
I can totally see why Roc Nation said it wasn’t “market ready” though
Are there even final vocal takes for some songs? Part of the magic is the rawness of the demos. The DIY aesthetic of Act I is what makes it great. You can’t sell a commercial product like that though. The average listener doesn’t f*** with that at all.
And that’s before all the unconventional arrangement and genre blending throughout. Jay Electronica is really his own thing in that regard - Act 2 shows that even more.
Remember this was 2012! Before Griselda, Mach Hommy, Ka, etc were making drumless hip hop popular.
Did they say this? I was always under the impression that the sole reason act2 wasnt realeases was jay elec himself. there's even video of Hov telling him to drop.the album. Jay elec had waaay more leg room than your average artist

Scarves, a close friend of Jay’s, said that’s what Roc said - not “market ready”. I believe partially it was Jay’s doing too. we’ll never know the full deal.
