Welcome to the Ladies List. These are the results of a private vote to put together our very favourite albums by women.

For clarification, these were the parameters of what artists you could vote for:

Solo female artist (singer or composer)

Undisputed female band leader/composer in an instrumental group

All female groups

Unisex groups with female(s) as only LEAD vocalist (male back-up on occasion is fine)

Transgender women (if they were a male at the time of recordings and transitioned after, that is fine.)

Non-binary who were born female and did not make the full transition from female to male.
