it's highest placement ever, but was very surprised to see Sign o the Times make such big jumps

Yeah well it takes a lot of marinating and everybody finally caught up
PR just a little tighter
He gets positive reviews thrown at him for his recent work like it's candy tbh
Yeah and there was suddenly a revived hype for him when Skeleton Tree released for some reason. He was being mentioned all over the place for a bit afterwards (although im sure the album's background definitely had something to do with the press hype around it).
Even though Lazarus and Abbatoir/Orpheus got great reviews too, Skeleton Tree came with renewed media coverage.
P***ography also with the rare 'higher placement than its highest vote'. I think Nick Drake's Pink Moon did the same on the first 70s list.
yeah could have predicted top 2 but p***o #3 a bit much
@Terry won with that Disintegration placement

your funeral my trial
tender prey
good son
let love in
murder ballads
boatmans call
abbatoir blues
dig lazarus dig (huh)
push the sky away
skeleton tree
ghosteen
a lot of them make sense but also keep in mind that due to the nature of an aggregator like that, its natural for an artist like nick to continually receive more attention and acclaim as time goes on. im not surprised at all but some stuff like Murder Ballads (his most popular although im not a fan), Let Love In (also one of most popular), and the 2010s ones which i honestly think are super great and did receive more critical attention than his early stuff (deservedly so). and ofc Tender Prey which has Mercy Seat
Lazarus, Skeleton Tree, and f***ing Push the Sky Away (?!?)
Cant speak on Ghosteen cause i havent heard it, but considering that list im getting strong recency bias vibes. Which makes sense if the acclaim rankings are based on media reception i guess, so its honesly pointless to argue against haha
Oh wow i didnt even think about Daydream or Closer being up there to compete with RIL or Disint
My brain must've just quit on me when i was talking about that
