36 Chambers most overrated album ever
Just finished and thought it was dope all the way through
ritual is a sold step up from it. their debut (live album) also has a few good songs that aren't on the studio albums but not the first thing id recommend to beginner
best rhythm section for an alternative rock band

Last song sounds like it birthed RATM

4. Neurosis - Times of Grace
5. Death - Symbolic
6. Kyuss - Welcome to Sky Valley
7. Neurosis - Through Silver in Blood
8. Megadeth - Rusts in Peace
9. Tool - Aenima
10. Cryptopsy - None So Vile
11. Incantation - Onward to Golgotha
12. Melvins - Lysol
13. Kyuss - Blues for the Red Sun
14. Acid Bath - Paegan Terrorism Tactics

black metal representation actually embarrassingly bad, not a single black metal album in the top 200
No Morbid Angel
Yeah I got alot more interested in them when I found out psych and funk were influences love rock you can dance to
im predicting you might stan one of the weird psych-esque longer jams on the 2nd half of ritual
and yeh even though they ofc arent fully metal they definitely paved the way for a lot of the "alternative metal" bands like RATM
No Morbid Angel
Altars would have made it for the 80s
