The few of us who love Julia Holter (mainly myself & @Aruji ) both prefer Tragedy and Aviary but all her work this decade is awesome. Prob my number 1 artist this decade.
Shoutout to you & @pneumonia for helping Aviary get a good placement though
Yeah, I feel like part of it is how many good albums she has. Because I thought about Loud City Song too.. still haven’t played Tragedy, I should listen to that today

love this thread and seeing kids born in 2006 ranking classic albums like they know what they are talking about ah hahah
My balls are considerably older than that
And these aren't classic albums you f***ing dumb s***
Oh God nobody show this guy the 60s and 70s lists he'll lose his f***ing mind
I didn't get nearly enough 14 year olds voting in my best songs of the 50s thread smh
Won't someone think of the plight of the male indie rocker?
It wasn't the final nail in anything. It was the first step in the acceptance of pop as music worthy of critiquing. KTT-favorite Charli XCX wouldn't be where she is if critics didn't pause and stop being elitist snobs when it comes to pop
You think the first step to fair critical consideration of pop music happened in 2015?
I mean I think it was well underway by the time Bey dropped her self titled, but even if it wasn't s/t is far more of a moment for the pitchforks, etc. embracing pop than emotion. Emotion is just what sparked "Popheads".
I had that picture layout ready a long time ago but didn't get the idea for the gifs til I was already done counting (and actually had normal pictures made for the top 5). Made a lot of extra work for myself since I had to make a few of the gifs myself (not easy to find a good gif of Koz or Danny Brown pre OLD) but I think they look great. MBDTF was the hardest cause I had to make sure the cover properly looped with the picture
bro i didn't even notice there was a gif on the album itself that's flames. Pitchfork gotta hire you for their album roll out in 2030.

how many years to constitute a classic? MBDTF turns 10, is that the golden number?
Incredible album, deserved higher.

Yeah there are a few classics on here but these are relatively very fresh albums

Tried to keep it to one album each but there’s a few of her albums that are definitely worth spots. She never disappoints.

2011 - 17
2012 - 15
