ARTIST INTROS

Pages 62-64

Create an artist and give them a background and we will do a draft on rap style or rapper builds/comparisons drop an artist background/come up story. Release a debut project with no label. Then from there get a label deal and artist co-signs. From that point you start your debut album rollout with whatever promotion method you want to take it. We’ll play with 10-12 artists. And need 5-7 judges. I’ll be the commissioner. And I’ll shortly create a point system for the game.

###Rap Build Styles (2 slots available for each style)

Lyricist

PROS: respect from hip hop old heads and peers, free 90s rappers features as long with producers) can out rap any other build in draft
CONS: marketability, albums sales, and mainstream feature/producer connections

New Atlanta

PROS: connections with ATL artists and producers (free features included) radio play, and easy to market
CONS: over saturation and repetitiveness, lack of crossover appeal, and lack of album direction

Homegrown Artist

PROS: Loyal diehard fan base, respected by most peers within the genre, free features from friends in industry, creative freedom
CONS: low album budget, lack of radio play, harder to get endorsements and harder to get headlines

Industry Plant

PROS: Industry connections/more flexible album budget for features and producers, streams
CONS: Lack of respect among peers and listeners, wrong move made marketing wise will effect album sales, expectations set high prior to release might be harder to reach

Cross Genre/Mainstream Appeal (UNAVAILABILE)

PROS: popularity, albums sales and getting features from people within other genres
CONS: Album quality a lot will come down to marketing schemes and the rollout to help the album score and rap beefs

R&B (UNAVAILABLE)

PROS: crossover/radio play, free R&B artist feature (from anyone), industry power couple
CONS: lack of rapping ability, rap beefs, feature limits

Soundcloud

PROS: streams, cult fan base, own merch line and automatic hit
CONS: longevity could lose appeal before debut album, no lyrical ability whatsoever, lack of creative direction

Experimental (UNAVAILABLE)

PROS: diverse diehard fan base, ability to start clothing line, merch etc, can cross genres as well but not to mainstream level.
CONS: mainstream appeal hard to get, and not as well respected amongst peers, music can be to edgy for listeners

Psychedelic

PROS: clothing brand, weed strain, strong mixtape catalog, some crossover appeal
CONS: living up to mixtape hype, ability to grow and mold as an artist, harder demographic to market to

Rapper/Producer Combo (UNAVAILABLE)

PROS: ability to produce own music (selects producer build), can produce for other artists, a lot of connections within the genre
CONS: own production and feature budget, label signed too makes bigger impact on album quality, album cohesiveness and direction is a huge factor for an effective debut album

Street/Trap/Drill

PROS: connections with street rappers, connections with major producers, quality control ties, radio appeal, touring

CONS: critical reception, repetitiveness, lack of diversity, legal troubles

Draft order will be randomized. First round rap style. Second for rap comparisons/build. 3rd round label (up to two artists can sign to same label)
After that judges will determine the features and production budget for artists participating.
