a lot of neo-psychedelia stuff that mostly ditches rock elements. and some older stuff like psych soul incorporates rock as a core piece of it but certainly aren't bonafide rock songs

It's funny because I didn't even notice music like that until the 2000's but there's something special about the 90's that I can't pinpoint.
