Beautiful

damn, can't wait for this one.

Thread dead asl but we UP

Strokes gang

Strokes is Arctic Monkey father

you already know.

Delete this thread I'm so serious

what's your top 5 strokes songs ?

Arctic Monkeys are way better but Is This It is one of the first Pitchfork Approved albums so they're gonna sweep

One of the many AM B sides that clear every other indie rock bands discog

I wouldn’t say way better. You can argue over which band has been most consistent since they came out but The Strokes dropped a top 3 album of their career 20 years in. The Monkeys been super iffy since AM

i don't mind the new style, i just wish there was some energy in it. not saying go back to garage rock, but damn, wake the f*** up.

also, not a fan of the 3+ year gaps between the albums.

The monkeys are a lounge act now - it’s OVER

But nah TBHC has a few decent songs and The Car is okay but so forgettable immediately after turning the album off. Overall the new style just so longwinded and like you said low energy. Hope Alex gets inspired to write with the guitar again rather than the piano his voice also isn’t strong enough to go for the style he wants to make these days

Lmao

Hard to Explain
Call it Fate Call It Karma
Is This It
Ode to the Mets
Adults are Talking

prob something like that
You?

imagine my slight disappointment each time they released a single for The Car roll out and then hearing I Ain't Quite / Sculptures. I couldn't stop thinking that i wish they had done one half of the album smooth/ slow and the other half more upbeat / experimental (in their style ).

Meet me in the bathroom
ize of the world
alone together
life is simple in the moonlight
hard to explain

not ranked or anything.

The Strokes 20-0

i f*** with this for a top 5. especially for having their newer s*** on it.

Mirrorball was prob the best off the album at least for me. I don’t hate the album when it’s on but I couldn’t pick out another song off the top of my head

If no one got me mr get dough got me

Both of y’all got solid lists. Y’all may be seeing some of them soon 👀
