@Uhhhhhh It's always tough representing a rapper that's a personal fav. I wish y'all nothing but luck. That's why I'm still hesitant about Ghostface. You always wanna do their catalog justice but it's at the expense of sacrificing gems, so you don't feel 100%, even if you win. You want them to be celebrated for more than just the hits.

Calling Common a sleepy rapper is like calling Lupe a Pseudointellectual rapper. It’s putting them both in a box that does a disservice to the great music they have given us.

I understand preferring Lupe as a few people have in this thread, but acting like Common ain’t all that, ain’t all that.

It was definitely hard cutting a few favorites of mine but I’m really content with my setlist.

You could call a lot of Lupe’s work pseudo intellectual to be fair. And that’s one of my all time favorite rappers.

Common’s work is great but his rapping doesn’t engage me like that. There aren’t many dimensions to the way he sounds or makes me feel.

That VZ was an eye opener fr. That's when I knew it had more to due with popularity than quality. Familiarity plays a part but I'm never voting for bullshit just because I recognize it over a fire ass gem. That's why we can preview the songs before voting.
