it's like a buffet of all types of sounds, it's ridiculously well-written and features a lot of what i personally think are some of their best written tracks (Dear Prudence, Happiness is A Warm Gun, Julia, Glass Onion) lots of catchy riffs and ridiculously psychedelic (particularly Prudence and Happiness Is A Warm Gun) and there's just a lot of ear worms and catchy rhythms on it that ill never get over
it also has one of their most aggressive (if not the most aggressive) songs in their entire discography (Helter Skelter) which is one of my favorite songs of theirs ever
dont get me wrong, i do think it's a little overly long and does have some low lows like you mentioned Ob-La-Di is absolutely embarrassing and unredeemable, and it does start falling apart a bit on the second half of the album with novelty type songs like Revolution 9, but overall, there's just a lot of different sounds and s*** on it that i just never get bored of, its inconsistency is kind of what draws me in if that makes sense
okay
this is what I think about it too tbh.
I couldnt get over the lows on my listens
ill try it again in a bit
i do like the beatles a decent bit tho

itll always be interesting for literally creating an entire archetype of an album. to this day people are describing albums as "x's white album"
real postmodern s***. advanced forms of expression
do it for the culture
ill never forget hooking up w this girl for the first time and i had this playing and she started singing it, swore i was in love right then.
She broke my heart though lmao

G Herbo could make Yellow Submarine but they couldnt make 4 Minutes In Hell Part 3

Who could the beatles beat in a verzuz on here?
I meant couldnt
Who couldnt beat the beatles
My bad yall
A Beatles vz would literally just be trolling
let’s be honest 50% of this forum ain’t heard a single beatles song
this>>Beatles discog

Honestly the fact that so many books still name the Beatles as "the greatest or most significant or most influential" rock band ever only tells you how far rock music still is from becoming a serious art. Jazz critics have long recognized that the greatest jazz musicians of all times are Duke Ellington and John Coltrane, who were not the most famous or richest or best sellers of their times, let alone of all times. Classical critics rank the highly controversial Beethoven over classical musicians who were highly popular in courts around Europe. Rock critics are still blinded by commercial success. The Beatles sold more than anyone else (not true, by the way), therefore they must have been the greatest. Jazz critics grow up listening to a lot of jazz music of the past, classical critics grow up listening to a lot of classical music of the past. Rock critics are often totally ignorant of the rock music of the past, they barely know the best sellers. No wonder they will think that the Beatles did anything worthy of being saved.

you dont have to listen all at once or even in order honestly, break it up into whatever chunks or skip songs to eventually appreciate everything
if you randomized the track order i honestly think the album would be equally good and thats partly why its cool. but it still absolutely feels like one united statement

not even being like that the age gap crazy these days
