what happened?
idk i just got burned out of it
honestly i understand why ppl don't like the mix for cherry bomb but i understand what he was trying to do with it and i appreciate it (putting attention on his beats and the sounds he likes)
for me i feel like not only just the beats but the verses i always f***ed w/ too even tho they can get ridiculous it's like tyler at my favorite, good examples being deathcamp and 2seater (also good examples of the sides of himself)
i just feel like it's tailored to me as like the kid aspiring to be great he feels like he's just truly being himself on that s*** idk if that makes sense
my little cousin feels the same way about him with the aspiring to be great
maybe it’s because i take everything so serious that’s why i always was a fan of tyler as a producer more than him as a fully realized artist. for some reason i just can’t get behind the ridiculousness of the lyrics sometimes. it just don’t hit for me at best, makes me roll my eyes at worst
i listened to odd future for so long but never took tyler seriously until cherry bomb dropped honestly. it took me a while to appreciate him outside one or two songs.
i think that’s why earl resonate with me so hard bc it’s dead depression raps, and that nigga take life too seriously and smoke too much he just like me fr locs on the way 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾
find your wings one of the most important songs to my being
ppl clown tyler for telling ppl to travel/do s*** etc but those messages have had such a big impact on me over the years and I think he's telling younger ppl s*** they need to hear
I dont think I wouldve started trying to produce if it wasnt for him
let me roll this s*** up think it’s time to revisit cherry bomb
what u said about it feeling crowded is super valid, like I just relistened to Pilot (one of my favs on there) and there's legit so much s*** going on but the fact that the execution is kinda sloppy adds so much for me its crazy
wolf used to be my fav album for a few years
it wasn't my fav but besides donuts that s*** was my most played
still can play it on autopilot to this day
awkward also prbly my other fav tyler song besides deathcamp and garden shed
daydreaming music and helped me escape a lot of the s*** i hated in high school lol
Honestly Goblin is still my favorite for its amateurish rough around the edges quality. I like how juvenile and provocative it is but at the same time shows a genuine vulnerability and sense of creative energy buried underneath it. There’s all these little glimmers throughout it that show what he would eventually become but it’s wrapped up in this carnival ride like nightmare aesthetic of dread and misery. Flower Boy a close second tho.

the chorus on cowboy takes me back to my 9th grade crush so vividly its nuts

that s*** was a moment when i first heard it. def still would put it as one of tylers best. the beginning of his growth
"Can name a sweater but not a talent, and don't know if whether or not they got one"
one of my favorite things with tyler's albums is that nobody got the same favorite song cause they all unique and speak to niggas more than others sometimes. Colossus my fav wolf song

yea as i'm reading this i'm just thinking abt f***ing dark stains and that s*** man
but idk tyler has always been that way ever since i started listening to him. he has had his corny moments for sure but idk something abt him spiritually aligns w/ me
like he may not be my favorite rapper or producer but he still has had a huge impact on me for feeling like someone i can connect with thru music even if that sounds stupid af
