she was ahead of her time, but playing the victim especially for how privileged and established is compared to all these fresh artists isn’t cool

    STUFF

She lost me in the first paragraph. There’s no traditional way to feel empowered or beautiful. She didn’t have to compare women to differentiate herself. I understand where she’s coming from having skim read her letter though

Yeah I understand some of the post but that first sentence was just super not needed

Didn't she write a song about Harvey Weinstein lol

Why do I get the feeling she’s trying to galvanize white people against successful black artists

  • May 21, 2020

she's just addressing the people who have criticised her for subject matter in her music, nothing more nothing less

  • May 21, 2020

    What culture ma’am

It's just going to distract people from her sentiments. It was not fit for purpose!

You can sense her frustration though in it

Genuinely excited for her books though

Just say women should be allowed to be their full authentic selves within their music

  • May 21, 2020

She needs to keep Bey name outta her mouth.

And she needs to stop whining and complaining

  • May 21, 2020

Lana made her name off pretending to be a 1950s San Fernando Valley nicotine addict who gets slapped around by her boyfriend at night. She can change course if she wants to, but she can't deny that aspect of her image and songwriting was a factor in setting her apart.

Trashing other successful women in the industry won't change the past.

    STUFF

I also didn’t know people criticised her for normalising or romanticising abuse but on paper that’s plausible but not intelligible

    Double standard with women too
