well i was expecting to be bored out of my mind listening to this but i'm glad i gave this album a spin

idk how she is on the rest of her albums outside of BTD and Ultraviolence but this was phenomenal, i love how vulnerable she is on this album.. A&W had me clutching pearls, kintsugi is hauntingly beautiful and fingertips had me on the verge of shedding a real thug tear

my favorite tracks were A&W, candy necklace and fishtail

my least favorite tracks were let the light in, margaret and peppers (never wanna hear that s*** again ever)

will give it a few more spins but my first impression rating: 8/10

    fantastic album

What does a person named j*** khalifa know about lana

good album its a little overly long but pretty high quality all around, appreciate the switch up in the second half too.

did you know...,A&W, candy necklace, let the light in, peppers are my stand out songs on the first listen. lana got such a consistent discography

  • Mar 24, 2023

i gotta check this out. i've listened to very little of lana but nfr is one of my favs of the 2010s

Going to give it a try cause of this

  • I mean, look at my hair
Look at the length of it and the shape of my body
If I told you that I was raped
Do you really think that anybody would think I didn't ask for it?
    I didn't ask for it
    I won't testify, I already f***ed up my story
On top of this, so many other things you can't believe
Did you know a singer can still be
Lookin' like a side piece at thirty-three?

Album lacks memorable melodies, production/composition is muted and boring on most of the songs. Just not an enjoyable listen for me. Or something that I’ll ever go back to.

Songwriting (lyrically) is A+ and if this is relatable music for somebody then I can see that person loving the album based off that.

I’m always waiting for another Born to Die from Lana and I realize I will never get it and she’s making personal albums for herself but I’m tired of being disappointed.

Waiting for an artist to make work similar to their previous project is always a losing game. Dont do that

True but I’m always hoping she gets back into her pop bag at least a little. That’s when I loved her most.

woah you weren’t kidding. she’s always been a pretty good writer, but there are some genius level turns of phrase on here. tracks 8-11 all had amazing lyrics

Fingertips was a standout to me as well, Lou Reed would applaud that one
