Can we have one thread without it devolving into race relations topics.
Please let’s talk about Lana
she ever getting over this 1950s aesthetic tho?
It’s her main point of differentiation at this stage.
She’s kind of getting over the melancholia vibes now though. There’s not as much I suppose wistfulness (I haven’t heard the singles so I could be wrong)

Was just about to say this
shes been doing this since tucking persona and aesthetics for 5 years smh

Nah f*** that if this means more songs like the one we got today she needs to lock herself in that aesthetic forever

it doesn't have to change the music much just more up to date references and less driving around in old convertibles in her videos

Oh I thought we were talking about the music here my bad then yeah you're right s*** is def getting old after so many years of milking it
Picture from the set of the Chemtrails Over the Country Club video shoot. She's so beautiful 🥺
just listened a couple times. um
it's f***ing BEAUTIFUL

i really get everyone's criticism about the production but i don't think it's anything other than her wanting to make the type of music that inspires her and feels good to her. BTD was reworked by Emile and those guys to break her into the industry. UV was a great experiment that really paid off. but i think now she's finally free to just write and sing her songs and not concern herself with the extras lol.
when i imagine the song lana del rey wants to sing for the rest of her career, it's this.
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CU8pjcgp8J8"Meet you for coffee
At the elementary schools
We'll laugh about nothing
As the summer gets cool
It's beautiful, I'll escape
Normality settles down over me"
yeahhh this 100% reinforced my beliefs from this post yesterday. we need to appreciate this woman now. she might say f*** it and dip real soon if she's brave enough. i think she is

Remember when she said she was feeling suicidal after her debut album and said she didn't know if she'd be making music for much longer?
Apparently, she had told a reporter that off the record but he included it in the published profile piece and she got mad about it. I'm glad she stuck around. Her music has only gotten better.

I love her voice on the song. It's more distinct somehow, idk how to explain it.

i don’t like it tbh. i think her recent music has been pretty good but her image and public persona just makes her seem unlikeable imo
the fans are saying it's about her cop ex-bf (he was born in december) but i think it can also be about her girls because well, she said so herself in an interview. and she has the lyric about her sister. and her girls are heavy in the video lol. i think i remember her saying the album centers around them and her friendships so it makes sense to me.
