fanservice is doing everything "right" according to market demands and getting a box office hit, but literally not doing anything artistically different or worthwile
We had this same discussion. Just because you think “fanservice” is only something people will always react to “positive” doesn’t mean it always is received that way.

fanservice might get used differently but it doesn't mean that...

Jada Pinkett with the makeup on is super hilarious to me. An old bearded Neo is even funnier, etc. The blue haired chick is so bad that she's perfect.
