The husband is Kenaus stunt double for Matrix 1 and director of John Wick. Pretty sure Lana choose him to in a meta way say they date or marry someone derivative of you but not you. Because she subciouslessly looked for Neo in many ways. Including her frequenting the noodle shop when movie 1 he says "they have good noodles there". This movie is much about developing their romance more than developing the action
The coworkers are machines seeking to learn what people like about the Matrix for WB or the suits to program the next iteration. They essentially want the magic formula that creates the most despair and cycles which includes death.
The crew on the ship are all fanboys but for different reasons. One of the crew members say he is hotter with a beard. another says everyone who ships with him dies because also kenau former lover who loved bikes like trinity dies. As well as the love interest of the protagonist also dies. They are all worshipping him but dont know his inner turmoil or that the depression and trauma of himself dying and everyone he knows as well as himself forgetting who he was. so he tries to bring them back to life again subconciously through the game. He has ascended from poverty in matrix 1 to riches yet he still yearns for more even though he is bluepilled and programmed to look old to others.He has no kids so his creations are his kids. Which is part of the we kept kids entertained joke connects too
No one was supposed to die in the end. They would if Bugs didnt show up but Bugs saves the Crew(fanboys, love interest, Neo and trinity from dying). Bugs in a way is WB too lol again bugs bunny.
Without Neo and Trinity in the Matrix it appears no one takes the risk to find true love. If you notice Trinity is complacent with a husband the crew doesnt even look for love and no one has a true connection is part of what film alluding too. The only other couple I think we see is where the man wakes up next to his significant other and jumps to his death showing again the cost of suicide as well of cycles of despair to mantain the status quo
The cut scene is morpheus vs agent johnson who was entirely cut from this film. Why who knows but the many test screenings that wb forced shaved about 30 minutes of this film that it oddly needed.

My point exactly. Alot of these critics never liked the sequels but had to give them flowers at least on a technical level. The drastic step down in quality of action gave them an easy out

It seems like everyone thinks they should have the "right opinion" on everything, and the easiest way to act like you know things is to pick some data point and act like it proves your point. Obviously there is more nuance to movies than box office numbers but that requires complex thinking and these people dont really care they just have to get back to watching their tiktoks.

As a person who enjoyed both Spider-Man and Matrix 4, I appreciate what both are trying to do for sure.
I’m just relieved cuz Matrix 4 was a dope blockbuster to me that feels like it just wasn’t tryna get me to buy more s***.
But yea I enjoyed both
