Yeah I think it's the more jazz fusion elements which I really love.
I heard Rock Bottom but that didn't really give me the same feeling although it's still pretty good.
I'll give those a listen, thanks for the recs mate. Much appreciated, you always come through

I didn't enjoy this album as much as I thought I would. Maybe because it's a live album and I'm not used to live albums. I did find it energizing and when the women screamed in between some records, you could feel the love in the air. Overall, it's a great album. Just expected it to be a lot better. Would probably be a 4.5 if I could witness it in real time.

Didnt know they made Wouldn't it Be Nice. Haven't heard that song in years. It's a solid project. A few meh tracks but a few standout records I'll keep. I probably won't check out another album they have. Only individual tracks.
4.2/5

This project isn't "bad", but for the standard I have for Aretha, it's pretty mid. Nothing truly special about it. The production was lackluster and vocally, she wasn't at her best. Aretha is one of those artists where you need to know how to create a record with her or she falls into this loop of monotony and "acceptable". It's not worth listening to at all imo. One thing I do find interesting is the mid albums from the 50s and 60s are so much better than the mid s*** from the 80s, 90s, 00s, and 10s. Like by far. This sht didnt age poorly at all.

This album is amazing. I'll probably be adding this to my favorites list down the line. It's ahead of it's time in a lot of ways. Never really cared for bob dylan until like this year but this and the blonde album are outstanding. The songwriting is top tier. I'll be listening to this for hours when I commute in between cities. It will definitely be in that 4.8-4.9 range as I digest it more so for now
4.7/5

I'm a sucker for old soul and blues. Represents me the best. The pain is real and the vocals give me chills. Otis is a god.

Apollo is a big grower and you should definitely also check out Beach Boys albums Surf's Up. Deeper and darker than Pet Sounds.

pet sounds

Album was pretty bland but you can tell he's a talented artist. I probably shouldn't have started with this album.

Love the energy. Just something to sing a long too with some friends.

Nina is another example of a 10/10 artist, but doesn't always have the best team around her to really put thought into constructing flawless albums. I actually found her album before this to be a bit better from top to bottom. Feeling Good is a bop tho
3.6/5

John is cool but you can tell his style is definitely more of a pre-recording era of music where he's one of those people you wanna watch perform rather than hear on earphones imo. I didnt find anything particurarly amazing with this besides Make Me a Pallet on the Floor and I'm Satisfied, which kinda disappointed me.
3.2/5

Never listened to a Beatles album until recently. Honestly hoped they would be trash so I wouldn't have to listen to another album. They are always overhyped and I can kinda see why. This album is solid.

yeah I kinda like Folk Singer but it definitely isn't representative of Muddy at all. all the other stuff ive heard from him is electric which I liked more
i do need to revisit it some time though

certified epic moment

Which album would you recommend from him?
Which album would you recommend from him?
for an album I might recommend the live album Muddy Waters at Newport 1960. but I also feel like anyone checking out Muddy Waters for the first time needs to at least hear the original 1950s single versions for Hoochie Coochie Man, Mannish Boy and I Got My Mojo Working just for the historical significance
been listening to fray's first album a bunch of times and it's really hitting me. had to make it a 10
Which album would you recommend from him?
I would recommend checking out Howlin Wolf, Muddys contemporary who I find way more potent
@sam_truth ur stuff is fire

Top 5 album I've ever heard. Psalm might be in my top 10 songs ever.
