Fav this year, awesome collage of sounds clashing together to create some of the best music I've heard in the past few years.

In a way its his most accessible but still has some of the elements from his previous album which he's known for. S***s so dope, knew from the first single he was gonna drop his opus and it didn't disappoint.

Are you not loyal to your pride?

damn this might be my new favourite Nico song.

Album is filled with hypnotic vocals and lush background sounds
Perfect sombre vibes to fit these times :feels:

Love when John Cale goes 'free jazz' mode on The End plus the storytelling and then it all ends in rock n roll great combination there. Much of the production was stellar throughout the album. Can't believe he played all these instruments

Closing this dark album with the German national anthem, including the now-banned first two verses.Taking Nico's racist history into account this is such a powerful statement from her

Nico was a genius, her artistry was overlooked due to her lifestyle but she's truly one of the greatest artists of all time.

The End is incredible, her 4th masterpiece in a row.

Yea not a fan of her lifestyle but the music is great.

Certainly innovative and fearless, all the genius traits ring true in her art.

Think I'll try Desertshore next and then finally Chelsea Girl

Desershore for me is her opus and probably in my top 5 fav albums OAT. Amazing poetry with the production sounding ominous and vague. One of a kind album.

Hope you like it, let me know in the Nico thread I made a little while ago... Would be nice for some others to get into her music <3

Surprised by that, Desertshore was an instant standout when I first went through her discog, I guess it isn’t her most experimental work but it’s the one that displays how talented she was with some of her best songs ever.

    No probs Soupy! ❤️

She’s a really talented songwriter, her lyrics are so vivid. Afraid & Janitor of Lunacy are a few examples, pretty sure Bob Dylan & Lou taught her briefly.

Been listening to Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite a lot lately. It's a groovy, smooth, and sensual body of work that's great to relax to.

    my favourite Maxwell

It's been in my library for ages but I've slept on it until recently. My current favourites off the album are Dancewitme, 'Til the Cops Come Knockin', and Reunion. I've gotta check out the rest of Maxwell's discography soon.

My least favourite album of theirs but Beth’s vocals on Cowboys are haunting.
