So i just got through listening

in all honesty this is the first non-english language album i've heard in full

i really liked it. i just let the whole thing play without checking when the tracks changed and i could still tell every song had a distinct sound whilst still fitting into the vibe of the overall album

defo opened my eyes to 'foreign' albums, and i will be checking for more from now on

    6.5/10

    just a miniview @cashchie

PND1 is still an incredible gem in the entire alt-r&b scene. jahron’s hazy vocals and delivery, alongside the neo-psychlike production really make the whole project shine. crazy to think that jahron produced this entire tape by himself (apart from 40 co-producing the drake feat ofc)

main problem for me is that jahron can be really jaring and boring at times, especially near the end. it seemed to be a major problem with most of the OVO crew, besides drake, their beats and vocals are sleep inducing, and focus is next to none. jahron seems to do it the best, but not by much.

it’s still a great project relistening to it, but it’s flaws are really starting to show the more i replay it. party’s music is simply nightride car music, and i’m not gonna be harsher on it because of that.

    8/10

highlights: welcome to the party, relax with me, break from toronto

lowlights: over here (i never really liked any drake involved tracks during this era, live for is another example)

  • Marvin Gaye - Let’s Get It On

Surprisingly I never listened this album before, even though I’m familiar with Here My Dear, Whats Going On, and I Want You. But Jesus Christ this album is phenomenal. I would go as far to say this is better than What’s Going On. The pure soul and sensuality that radiates from this record is amazing

    10/10

aayyyyyyy glad that was the album that got u curious into albums from other countries. crazy cause if u like that, then brazil got a whoollee lotta amazing music from the 60s and 70s.

just listened to the archer. s*** is already in my top 10-15 of the year so far. wasnt even expecting all that lowkey. her voice is incredible with alot of personality, and the vibe sounds like a moody romance film set in santa monica fr. her songwriting is so on point too, her cadence and melodies are beautiful. peeped her personal playlists on spotify and she listens to alot of classic dusty soul/jazz/funk music, and you can hear those influences. but the sound is still modern and unique.

i love how the production is dry and muddy at the same time. makes the sound sound sun-burnt in a way, and it fits well with her voice and the arrangements.

thanks for this man, dont know how i never heard of this.

fav songs gotta be saving grace, crying all the time, and the phantom
