good movie by Miranda July about parenting, family, and connections. strong cast all around and as much as I hate Evan Rachel Wood, she was good in this. Gina Rodríguez stole the show tho, had to stop myself from so blatantly falling in love with her while watching with my girl. Emile Mosseri composed an excellent score too. after his work on The Last Black Man in San Francisco and Homecoming S2, he's one of the best up and coming film composers. excited to see what he does for Minari as well.

had a really bitterswwet experience watching this.
mental health was definitely not taken seriously back then
Great film
snuff film
@DELON your recent walked with a zombie rating better be a typo
tbh i think its a fair score. 3 ½ is not bad by any means at all. i'm not really sure how others rate but i p much do it on an enjoyment scale
i did watch it a bit high on downers and on a shoddy rip streamed in the ktt film club so there's that. chatting gets too distracting in there too lol.
perhaps i just didn't enjoy it to its full potential due to these circumstances, but 3 ½ is still better than good to me
mise-en-scene and the mysterious atmosphere with the use of shadows (which i understand tourneur is a master of) was extremely beautiful and the allusive love story about jessica, paul and wesley's love was pretty nicely written. there weren't any facts really but you puzzled it up.
ngl a fair chunk of the film lowkey hazy now
it's def worthy of a rewatch but down the line
@RASIE
also if it makes a lil jelly, i'm seeing rivette's haut bas fragile on 35mm tomorrow

Yeah i see 3.5s the same way (not bad at all). I just didnt expect to see someone on my LB timeline give that film a 3.5 i guess
But yeah i guess for sure rewatch down the road if the recent viewing was "corrupted" haha

Yo wtf where??
Are they just randomly playing that one film, or is a part of a larger exhibition/retrospective on his films?

it's actually an anna karina retrospective at the theatre of the swedish film institute. (i f***ing missed pierrot le fou on 35mm, tix were sold out)
they were supposed to show all of it earlier in march-april but they shut down because of COVID, I did get to see vivre sa vie before they shut though, so happy i got to see that
they were supposed to show like 30 hitchcocks (altho restored and digitalized) too
if you're a student you just pay for an annual membership for 110 and get free admittance the whole year. amazing deal tbh
wish they did a rohmer one since it's his centenary too, but now I own practically all his films on blu
got to see a few fellinis as well
