    THE WHITE TIGER

was aight. ngl was lowkey disappointed w how they decided to end it. they spent two hours building up to the ending just to wrap everything up in 5 min. and I get the class divide in India must be crazy if that’s really the only way you can make it out but also high key shady not the best message imo

    7/10

That nigga Weerasethakul don’t miss, on god

Most sensually engaged/pleasing movie I seen in a big minute

Chang-dong nigga might not miss either

& then, I’m not nearly as familiar w this director but this is my fav of the bunch- outstanding collection of stories and visuals here

    5/10 boring

All my friends were disappointed by this- and me too. I remember not being HUGE on the director’s last pic The Rider but I maybe preferred it to this one

    Great film
Loved the tense scenes in this movie... great acting by Jodie Foster and Forest Whitaker... David Fincher does it again

Have you seen anything else by the director? It’s just like his other films- but is maybe a little easier to follow

  • Feb 24, 2021

Yea idk if anything is easy to find, but they are good and sorta build off each other.

I watched something months back called Goodbye Dragon Inn, which is sorta comparable to Weerasethakul films imo.

I watched Manhattan on a whim last night- it had been sitting on my hard drive forever bc I liked Annie Hall, but I didn’t wanna give Woody Allen a chance w his creep history. The film, to my surprise, was very much invested in that history (he dates and talks a lot about being w a 17yo girl) but was undeniably a very good film to me.

I couldn’t recommend it to any of my friends who already see him as a creep, bc the content makes it very hard to separate the art from the artist, but personally it was good enough material to break my personal embargo and now I’m gonna d/l and watch some more of his stuff

this film’s set design + coloring anticipates Paul Shrader’s Mishima in a major way. Amazingly awkward chill film

    Tokyo Drifter (1966) 10/10
