Watched Hostel and Hostel Part II.

I’m no softy when it comes to horror but torture stuff still gets to me.

Overall, pretty lame. These movies aged horribly dialogue wise lmao

First one at least had a somewhat original idea that was well executed, second was just shock horror n going off the 1st's good rep

and watching them before i travelled the world in hostels was a badddd idea LOL, but "fear is the mind killer"

yeah loved it but wasn't really that scary to me

first 30 minutes were scary but after the 2nd act starts the movie is more of a comedy

Pearl: 5/5 imho (it accomplishes its purpose perfectly)

Cinematog: vast and open, not shying away from color, but will use the dark and storms effectively. The inside lighting is great too. The scenes at the kitchen table and the fireplace in the back. Can really tell it’s in the vein of wizard of oz. That Kansas feeling is here.

Story: great, keeps you guessing. Isn’t trying to be outside its bounds. Well put together.

Mia Goth: horror performance of the year. Bar none case closed. She killed that role. Variation of emotions. Falling into the character. She does it all. The mother was great too.
