My favorite of the trilogy. This feels thematically denser than Oldboy or Mr Vengeance, so I can't wait to really dig in on rewatches.
And that 3rd act
I only made it 27 minutes before cringing so hard i had to turn it off
Yeah that s*** didn’t hit for me either

This is the directorial debut from one Raven Jackson and she shows a lot of promise as a director. Gives of Terrence Malick vibes, for better or worse. The movie is set in Mississippi, and tells a memoir-like story about a woman named Mackenzie from childhood to adulthood, including how she navigates through life by using the knowledge passed down from her parents, particularly her mother. It's a very quiet film with barely any dialogue and when it works, it's powerful. I'm not convinced that this is a masterpiece but it's a bold film because of its deliberately slow pace and non-linear structure. It felt like I was watching a poem unfold, or reading a literary novel, and that immersive quality elevated the movie for me. Will be looking out for more work from this director.

classic bruh. amazing movie. the author of the book released Heat 2 the book in 2022! We will get a Heat 2 movie
genuinely the most important scene in the godfather series as it pretains to michael's character.
Those films really are on a different level man, especially part 2

art direction was it's only saving grace.
No idea why this plot was bothering so many people.
