Beau Travail (1999)
The Virgin Suicides (1999)
One interesting element of my double header last night is how Claire Denis’ Beau Travail had a ‘female gaze’ subjected onto the male actors, while Sofia Coppola’s Virgin Suicides operated as a knowing, explicit example of the male gaze. So both were female-led deliberate interventions into the assumed, implicit male gaze of cinema. I preferred the Denis film, but overall the parallel was unplanned but cool to witness
Also, Virgin Suicides is unbearably white

Beau Travail's f***ing godly
I watched the Skywalker movie. Actually hadn't seen it until just now.
Damn this was bad. I never liked Abrams films but this is just wow. I have no idea how they f***ed this up so bad. Even s*** that should be baseline at this budget. Technical s***. Horribly directed and horribly written. I thought that since I'm not gonna be bothered by all the s*** the loser-nerds rage about it was gonna be alright but even basic ass dialogue was tragic
sucks that the ikarie blu went out of stock and then restocked like 2 days later after ordering

there's a promo for Ikarie on YT going "before alien, solaris and 2001 we did this s*** you bums" lmao
looks interesting though
I just seen the original spider Man and I don't remember it being so good. That s*** is f***ing hilarious.

Harry Potter: Goblet of Fire

Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix
7.5/10
Harry Potter: Half Blood Prince
8.5/10
Inland Empire
10/10. It was the only David Lynch film I had yet to see. Wow. While Mulholland Drive is his masterpiece, Inland Empire is his definitive “Lynchian” film. It blew me away.
