  • Probably the most nostalgic era of music for me. Something about this era just felt so futuristic and the plethora of promising young talent mixed with legends in their prime just make it so special. Feel like anyone that was a teenager around this time can really relate just how important the music was back then. Just wanted to show some love to a great time in my life

    Yes

    Im so nostalgic for this era you perfectly nailed its description. Futuristic but rooted in the traditional foundational s*** of hip hop and future of rap looking optimistic. Then chief keef thug migos future happened lol

  • The wildest thing about this era is that it looked like it was gonna continue until like 2012 happened lol

    It really was a magical time. Everyone had a favorite rapper of the new gen and you honestly couldn’t go wrong with any choice. All the legends recognizing the talent and directly working with them or indirectly influencing them. It was truly a special time that I’m not sure has been replicated since

    My era 😢

    Been revisiting a lot of music from this era lately. Reminds me of the post 106/Rap City era. This the MTV Jams era lol

    I feel you on the futuristic s*** too. A lot of artists were going for that aesthetic. Remember hearing a lot more synths during this time. Wayne was on his martian s*** lol still had OGs like Hov, Nas, Q Tip putting out some good music.

    @op

    Thank God, some Late 2000s appreciation

    I remember majority of the Mid-Late 2000s era as a kid. It was my fav time listening to music, especially when I had me a PSP (I still have one, I just need to get a new battery and some new games lmao)

    The early 2000s music to me only a smidge overrated just only for the fact that f***in Millennials can't seem to let go the notion that everything was the best (when it really wasn't) in the 90s or just NY niggas/dustballs can't help that the South had something to say throughout the remainder of the decade (word to Andre)

    All the 2000s decade of music wasn't perfect either, but it damn sure was spectacular decade that people finally woke up to in the past few years

    I'm just glad to see the love it's getting now

    I still remember when this came out as a kid. I was like "Wow this strangely different, but I love it"

    Sad I missed out on 5 years of Cud's career, because man if I was able to witness Peak Cudi, it would've been sight to behold.

    09-13 Cudi was everywhere
