Like are yall incapable of being objective or something, its definitely mid. Hasn't aged well at all and its even worse than SFGTML is solid, but not a career highlight. I think even most Drake fans agree with that. However something not being a career highlight/peak doesn't necessarily equate it to being weak.
Also you said 'it's even worse than SFG' as if SFG is bad when SFG is acclaimed and well-received.

But it's cool, Kendrick pretty much the only big rapper from that generation who had a strong debut album better than his mixtapes

Honestly, SFG vs TML which is better? And your answer to that should tell you the frame of mind of people and how they felt upon hearing TML a year or so after SFG. Because honestly I'd think its weak upon arrival after hearing SFG, just like I thought DAMN was kinda weak from Kendrick after TPAB
