Love Child (TBA)

Todd Solondz is calling it his first movie with a plot, and the synopsis sounds like his own twist on mainstream 90s/00s flicks. A kid tries to break his mother and her new boyfriend up. Imagine the darkest version of that.

This was originally going to be Rachel Weisz and Colin Farrell, but I'm into the younger casting. The same producer that did May December which was Charles Melton's big breakout.

Humane (2024) MID

Caitlin Cronenberg's feature film debut. High concept, bottled film. A tense family dinner after a population collapse. Jay Baruchel taking another real role hot off of BlackBerry. Distribution by IFC and Shudder and the Cronenberg name. Probably a good time.

Love Child has been on my radar for sure. Another one starring Olsen I’m interested in is called His Three Daughters (also starring Natasha Lyon and Carrie Coon) it premiered at festivals last year but hasn’t been released

Solondz is such an interesting director in the post 2016 climate and he's been absent from it.

I can’t say I’m too familiar with his work. Looking through his filmography I haven’t seen anything by him. I’ll have to go through some of them to get familiar with his voice before Love Child

I'd start with Happiness or Welcome to the Dollhouse. Palindromes and Storytelling are really out there. Palindromes especially. Can't believe that movie got made. Nothing like it.
