Fun album, not my favorite, but has def. has some highlights
I love how big and cinematic everything feels and sounds - you don't get sound like this 😮💨✨
So good man
It's also insane how many bands he had, made and also popped off even outside his own core named albums like The Time where he disguised himself and people didn't even know he was apart of it till the 2nd or 3rd album - and it still did numbers
My dad put me onto this album when i was little on road trips . Such a classic
Real 1!
My ma has almost every core Prince album and a good amount of the side projects - I grew up listening to him heavy and one road trip she was literally just playing him had a crate of all the CDs and was just listening to them through to the next
The mixing and soundscape of this album in particular has always stuck with me, it's so good and feels powerful
A lot of very good R&B from around 87 to 92 is forgotten....the non-New Jack Swing s***

real
insatiable n the title track are peak classic rnb too
true disco n house got done dirty too
Diamonds and Pearls is lesser known?
Definitely
Iirc it was his last major mainstream success album in 91 but wasn't reviewed as well and it isn't talked about much outside of Cream
It's an overlooked album in his discog that was part of his biggest era
You not going to turn this into a series OP
I've thought about it and did actually have another thread ready months ago but forgot
I might still 🤫

Fun fact: Diamonds and Pearls also produced his final billboard #1 song with Cream

It's his 5th or 6th number 1 song
Funny tho, Cream is one of my least favs on the album which is why I didn't put it in the op, although it's still a good song
I love this album a lot

Listening now. My mom is a hardcore Prince stan so I’m already head bobbing
@op you put me on to something great today I love you for that brother I thoroughly enjoyed this. I need to give his discography a proper listen. Sometimes it feels daunting due to so much material but wow this was fantastic
