R Kelly is a POS human being. No denying that.

But very few modern(Post 80's) solo R&B acts had a run like his 93-03 decade long run.

During that time frame, Kellz was killing everything: Quality albums, smash hits, timeless club/cookout/lovemaking songs, movie scores, writing/producing for himself and others including MJ, slaying features, and having decent live shows.

He checks off many boxes and is more versatile than people give him credit for, especially given how much his penmanship and production/musicianship gets overlooked.

Like I said, he's a trash person who belongs in jail. But ya'll are capping claiming most of these other modern solo R&B acts are on Kellz's level. D'Angelo's the only one in the convo but he didn't drop music as frequently. Usher has the commercial appeal and is a better performer but he's been very inconsistent musically.
