That's every Carti album
Maybe
But with this one it feels like there wasn't much more thought into that
In Die Lit you could feel some story going on with this it feels random and lazy
It’s not mid but it’s good for the most part imo
A lot of the praise seems a lil forced though. The hype, especially on ktt was so massive it would be such a huge L for the WLR Avis on here if it wasn’t anything short of amazing. They realize this and that’s why they’re making threads like this: ktt2.com/f33l-lik3-dyin-is-one-of-the-best-album-closers-in-modern-hiphop-104149 already
Yeah I get what you mean
For example Die Lit was an album that came out around the time when I got back to dating after a nasty breakup and I remember going to first dates and just listening to Die Lit to get into that mentality of "I'm a boss". It worked it was great. Future's music does the same to me.
And now I try to picture myself in a situation where I'd put this on on my headphones and go somewhere. Like... the intro on this is almost unlistenable for more than 40 seconds.
Too bad bc I thought he really has it in him to be innovative but now he's just putting trash on fire just to be different
D**** maybe.
I think this is because wlr feels more like fantasy. Like you do go somewhere but it’s nowhere on earth.

We'll give it a week to verify if it's actually mid
True
First listen was terrible might grow on me/(us) later
fans in the thread acting all confused when someone doesn’t like the album not realizing that regulars obviously also going to check it out and he def is an acquired taste.
The way he uses his voice is one of his main appeals for his fans yet is also one of the main reasons regular listeners are thrown off.
this has been the most catastrophic album drop i've ever witnessed lol. even the big day i don't think offended people to their core as much as this did. i could compare it to revival but em was already basically a legacy act by that point so he didn't have much to lose. maybe they'll switch up later but i don't think you could create a worse case scenario for carti at this point. he could have put out an album full of leaks ripped from soundcloud and it wouldn't have gone over as badly as this.
That’s true. How you ask some Carti haters maybe they would give a better opinion on the album smh
I'm sure some respectable defenses of this record will be mounted. Really curious what the angles will be.
I think hes doing well to use different voices and F1lthy really does the hard hitting beats well
it's solid, but didn't live up to the hype :(
Was never going to tbf. For the masses anyway, always happens when an album is as hyped as this was carti isn’t really for me anyway tbh but will give it a fair listen later
like 90% of the time?
It's basically:
1. Take a hard distorted beat that sounds kinda like someone is drilling in your head
2. Pick a phrase and repeat it over and over for 3 minutes
Congrats you have a WLR song
Lmao this is pretty much how I feel about all carti songs, it’s like rap for dummies. All adlibs and repeated phrases. Tbf though it’s not really my thing. Haven’t listened to the new album yet though
well its not mid its aoty
Whole album gets renegaded by Kanye and Cudi and the producers tho
Carti not that great on it imo
The s***s been out like 12 hours you f***ing dork, relax and let people come to a determination on how much they like it
it's solid, but didn't live up to the hype :(
I enjoyed it, didn't know what to expect cuz I wasn't big into Carti. My fav release by him tbh
we literally have a first impressions thread for this
