finally someone discusses this topic. This is the type of fresh, cutting edge content KTT needs.
ye hasn't been focused in a long time
claims hes a god in fashion...proceeds to put out dogshit clothes that isn't promoted by adidas.
claims he's a god in music...proceeds to put zero effort in his music going on 4 years now...
idk man ye just getting old, washed, he farted idk man s***s pretty sad but not sad to see because he had a good run.
TLOP - classic
ye - pretty good
KSG - great
JIK - not terrible but way below par
Donda - really damn good, could have been one of his best with proper editing and sequencing
Donda 2, if it counts - total mess, somehow even worse than JIK
TLOP - MSG classic. In my ears its good
ye - mid
KSG - great.
JIK - terrible. won't listen again!
Donda - mid. messy. unfinished

JIK - very good
DONDA - pretty bad
DONDA 2 - pretty good even in its current state!

I legit have no idea how someone could listen to an album with Off the Grid, Hurricane, Moon, 24, Believe What I Say, Life of the Party, Never Abandon Your Family, Jesus Lord, Pure Souls, Come to Life and No Child Left Behind and think to themselves that it sucks and Donda 2 is better.
TLOP - good, slightly overrated
ye - his worst project
KSG - same as TLOP but not as good as TLOP
JIK - good for the content, not great
Donda - return to form
D2 - not worth discussing
imo the expectation from a Ye album is different to what it was 10 years ago, and the quality just isn't there anymore
If Donda was just the 10 or 12 best tracks then it would have been critically acclaimed across the board.
Ye knew this but instead he gave his fans way more content because who cares about critics.
his musical instincts clearly gone haywire gradually.
For a while it seemed like he was chasing the perfectly edited down, concise sound and structure of yeezus but he overshot the mark by a lot with the Wyoming albums imo. Donda and donda 2 almost seem the opposite in an equally imbalanced way, being totally overstuffed and in dire need of an editing room session.
Can't speak to what it's actually like but it almost sounds like he's pushed a lot of ppl away and I just wonder how many people who are in his circle for musical endeavours now actually push back or give constructive critiques as opposed to just calling everything fire.
Also he clearly obsessed over one thing or another for months at a time and then totally drops it for the new hot thing which must be extremely frustrating.
tlop - good. has some questionable verses tho
ye - ok
ksg - good
jik - bad
donda - good. some filler. pt.2's were not needed
none of these touch his 2004-2013 work
he used to be a perfectionist but he just uses his music to build hype for his clothes these days. his rapping ability has gone down hill
Considering how far into his career he is, he's in a pretty good spot I'd say.
Just happy he's still somewhat making music.
