First of all if you are here early sorry , I don’t want to type too much atm bc I’m new and last time I tried to make a thread I wasn’t allowed to , but just bear with me , I’ll update this in a moment .
Anyways for me , if you’re not getting haircuts on a fairly regular basis , you probably are not as handsome as u would like to think you are .
Now this s*** is not an exact science , but there is most definitely a method to it all , and i reckon if you were to describe to the average woman , and that female inexplicably responded to the gist of it all , she would likely tell you that you’d gone mad .
For example , at about the 3:15 mark , Sir Dangerfield cracks an honest joke about the way his wife is unsatisfied with his haircut on account of the fact that it looks like he got a haircut . This is something I noticed was a very widely accepted notion within the cultural zeitgeist of the hippie era on through about the mid to late 80s , although probably ending a bit earlier than that in the black community .
There are a lot of other little things I want to say about this subject but for the sake of brevity , I will end this by saying that I know not everyone wants to look the same , but if you want to express yourself through your haircut , you ought to do it by coloring or braiding or having it grown out to a certain length or whatever . But with a few exceptions , if you don’t have an undercut pesky blinders style , a burst fade like all the baseball players with mullets ( josh donaldson / Aaron judge etc. ) , or a taper , I mean I would just recommend you do that .
I agree, for the most part.
I noticed that men who regularly get haircuts just regularly take better care of themselves
if that's you in your avi, you need a new barber gang
why ? i feel like you don’t really know what you’re talking about tbh
How often do u get a haircut
If it was possible I’d cut it once a week , but if I was to take pictures I want to be remembered and immortalized in that way with a bald fade . I am at my handsomest one to 3 days after I leave my barbers chair
your writing is very disjointed - are you basically saying you should do something more drastic if you want to 'express yourself' through hair, and if you don't - just get one regularly that is the undercut/burst fade or taper?

I’m try to say that a man should get a haircut as often as possible , and it should look like you’ve actually gotten a haircut
^ for example , I believe this guy gets haircuts on a semi regular basis so as to keep it at this length because it’s what he prefers , but because the sides are so long ( relatively speaking ) , it doesn’t actually look like he cuts it , if that makes sense .
There are a bunch of different ways to style the actual hair on top of your head , but just the 2 or 3 different styles of cutting it . having your sides grown out all the way isn’t a good look imo

Are u black? Just wondering cuz most white people dont get haircuts that frequently

i mean yeah, the main reason why having the sides grown out doesn't look great is because it rounds the shape of your face, getting it cut down usually emphasizes the jawline and adds a bit of sharpness
Out of laziness tho i keep it a little longer usually

Yes I am black
Yes I am black
Nice. I am white and get my hair cut once a month roughly. I think it looks best like 2 weeks in tbh. A little bit grown out seems better than perfectly crisp for me

I wasn’t sure how to explain why it’s so important but I think you nailed it . I would also say that this is probably just some kind of optical illusion , but I almost feel as if my hair seems thicker and has more volume in the days immediately following my haircut as opposed to how it looks when I’ve waited 6 , 8 , 12 weeks in between cuts

I've got type 1C hair so after it's grown out past a week the short hair starts to look like a porcupine so I either have to have it really short or long enough that it weighs itself down and some shadows are created to frame the face again

I noticed white people don’t like their hair to look like they just got out of the shop for whatever reason , but I disagree honestly .

Never thought about it before but actually strong agree that I feel
better specifically when the sides of my hair are short/relatively freshly cut
