That is entirely your opinion, but you were never even supposed to hear those leaks at all
What about snippets that he himself teased and never released in time?
Punk is incredible to me cause of the acoustic vibes. only song i’d remove is Stressed. everything else hits. i listen to the album on shuffle with spotify transitions, so i think a lot of that comes down to how ur consuming the album
as far as SMF, album def grew on me over time. will eventually go down as one of his best.
Business is Business too early to tell ans SL2 don’t count since it’s a compilation
seriously why y’all think business is mid? this is the most motivated thug has sounded since SMF
I don’t like the beats and it doesn’t move me or make me feel anything listening to it. Also Thug sounds good, maybe motivated is the word I guess but he’s not doing anything super interesting like he was doing on SMF
Which again, these songs are old and can’t fault him too much for this
Itt we got a rapper's rights activist that managed to convince himself that an artist releasing subpar quality music is justifiable in any sort
Punk the only miss on here tbh
idk if this a hot take but SL2>>>>>SL1
get they ass
punk is ass but business is business is basically his label dusting off an old hard drive and compiling an album out of it, not really fair to judge that one even if its ass
so much fun a top 5 thug album and slime language 2 is a label album (also good too)
His run ended at SMF for me, show was amazing. Everything after just been a victory lap
That is entirely your opinion, but you were never even supposed to hear those leaks at all
Whether the leaks were supposed to heard or not is kinda irrelevant tho lol
They're already out there now for people to hear
Batting 2/4 at most, realistically 1.5/4
Why do you think he's starting to slide down quality wise?
nigga is f***ing garbage lmao
can’t believe i used to see dumbasses force wayne comparisons with this dude thug lmao
the new album sounds like a posthumous release, PUNK was dogshit too
one of the most overrated and most protected rap artists to emerge in the 10’s
Let's be honest, thug started off as a troll rapper and some how blew up to this level lol.

Never understood the hate for SL1. I revisit it a lot. SL2 is the one I’ll probably never listen to again.
Point is those leaks inevitably set a standard to which the artist is held.
Why would I want to listen to anything Thug related that doesn't uphold this level of artistry?
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iy2i8UKukkEThat songs great, I have missed this kinda songs from him, what are song other unreleased that sounds as good as this
B6 great
SS series great
Jeffery great
BTG good (great at moments)
SL 1 great
SMF good
Punk bad
BIB great
Overall, despite vaulting his best music, the discography is solid and this album made me confident in his output again.
Because Thug didn’t intend for anyone to hear this.
If this was on an older project and you’re upset that he isn’t meeting this level of quality on his newer projects, that’s fair. But judging an artist based off of leaked material is extremely toxic and ridiculous
Him not intending for anyone to hear his very best music is the problem. Let’s be clear.
Let's be honest, thug started off as a troll rapper and some how blew up to this level lol.
Idk how some1 could say this
He has had super popular songs consistently that weren't looked at as jokes or memes
There are certain rappers who record a ton of random tracks regularly and then leave it to their team to pick from the vault and package a few of them up nicely and cohesively as an album
But this method of recording and releasing just ends up sounding like a compilation of loosies every time with no real distinction from their last project aside from branding
The best formula to making an album is still to record music that’s specifically for that project alone
Like when was he a troll rapper????
I guess if you started listening to him around the queerbaiting phase and dress wearing stuff, but even then he had a solid catalogue by then

Idk
I always just saw him as a unique guy never really a "troll rapper"

This man really started off as a Lil Wayne wannabe, used to rap with an insanely high pitch weird af voice, crooning all over the tracks with insane amounts of autotune. Birdman ends up signing/endorsing him and then they plan to kill Wayne together.
