Who in their late 20s to 40s is listening to Tyler the Creator? Quickly now.
Late 20s grew up wit OF tho. Most were in high school or 8th grade when yonkers dropped.

But did they actually like his music back then is the question. I know for a fact a lot of them were looking at Tyler as "Too weird" especially after Yonkers and tuned out from him. Tyler to this day is still trying to win back a certain crowd because of how weird he was in the early 2000s.
I'm seeing people talking about "Casual fans might only know him after Flower Boy" and that just proves my point. The overall majority of people who tune into Verzuz battles are casual listeners who want to hear hit songs. Tyler does not have any hit songs that appeal to a large audience like Childish Gambino.
You and me are on the same page with that I believe. I didn't think this would be a crazy thought process to have, but on KTT anything is possible.

If you were already a fan of Tyler then yes, but I know for a fact having been a fan of Tyler when I was 13 when he was getting known for eating roaches...a lot of people were not truly f***ing with him like that, unless they were "outcasts".

Second paragraph is true af, but I think the disagreement is about those rounds with deep cuts because these artists don't have many hits. If its Okaga/Lone/2Seater vs Flight of the Navigator/Life the biggest troll/Zombies, its not a sweep for Gambino

My brother is 30 and i played Lumberjack in the car with him last week. He was feeling it 🤷🏾♂️ . Granted he didn’t know it was Tyler before i played it but still.

Gambino spent many years being that artist KTT always hated no matter what and at one point he was definitely one of the most hated artists on KTT. People hate Tyler for being a "pretentious mysterious hack" because of how he acts and tweets that is true. People hate Gambino for the same reason but that nigga don't do anything but occasionally drop music and disappear

Lol I'm 26 and it's hard getting even others my own age into tyler specifically because they can't look past "the kid who ate a cockroach for attention back in the day". Oh well, they the ones missing out on what I truly think will go down as one of the best albums of all time
But Gambino clearly has bigger tracks so he'd win a Versus. They're both incredible artists though and have love for each other unlike the infamous MJ vs Prince s***
