Because people like you have s*** taste
That makes 0 sense. If it was a good album, TheWeeknd would be playing songs from it on his sets. He plays songs from his other albums that aren't even popular during his concerts.
Cope harder, bum.
It's definitely BBTM man. You're tripping saying its Dawn. BBTM was 100% label interference and him being forced to be more pop/radio friendly. I think starboy was the first project where they let him take the reigns
People itt s***ting on starboy and kiss land.
Tell me you're a recent abel fan without telling you're a recent abel fan

Starboy is still his best straight up pop record
I will concede that in 2013 kiss land was before its time. I didn't truly understand it but as time has gone on its a classic. It was the next step in his evolution after the mixtapes before he went full pop.
All the mixtape xtwod fans were in shock when can't feel my face dropped and now looking back on it with songs like secrets, die for you, save your tears, BL, out of time it was the blueprint for his superstar status

"Kiss Land" has reached the No. 1 spot on the iTunes R&B chart seven years after its release, so the singer wanted to celebrate.
On Thursday (August 13), The Weeknd tweeted that he would be sharing some unreleased music. "Memento mori ep9 kiss land edition
special thank you episode to the fans for showing so much love to kiss land this week. A collection of records that inspired the universe and a few songs and ideas that didn’t make the album. TOMORROW live on @applemusic at 3pmPT/6pmET/11pm GMT."

Not a single song on his setlist. What part did you not understand?
Some stans overhyped a terrible album to the point of people calling it a "cult" classic and it caught on.

Professional and tears in the rain are top 20 abel for sure
Kiss Land, and I know the Abel heads are gonna kill me for saying it.
KL was a solid concept, and I loved the Japanese inspired art and design of the era, but the music was mostly poorly executed. He was going for music and themes that were bigger and more theatrical, but he didn't yet have the tools. He needed to bring in the big dogs like Max Martin, Kanye and Daft Punk to help him see thru the vision on a bigger and global scale. Also, the album has as weird mix to it, at least on Apple Music, that makes it sound smaller and less grandiose than what he was intending.
The Weeknd’s weakest artistic period is what I call his “pandering” phase, which spanned Kissland - BBTM - Starboy.
Kissland was geared towards white hipster girls to listen to in candlelit bathtubs after weeks of gratuitous cocaine use. Followed by BBTM which is by far my least spun of any of his releases. I’ll never enjoy many songs on there, such as Can’t Feel My Face, regardless of any revisionist history about their “edginess”. Then Starboy felt like a collection of singles but wasn’t cohesive enough to me as a project.
Personally, I think its DAWNFM
Which is still a solid 8.5/10 which is a testament to how good his discography is
This the the answer. No need for a debate
People give BBTM s*** for songs like Losers and Angel but False Alarm is way worse than anything on BBTM
Hell nah

On another note, talking about "og valerie", I f***ing love the acoustic Valerie rendition way more than the album version
