Yea exactly. But if all the people are connecting with is talk about being d***ged out, doing criminal s***, and disrespecting each other wouldn’t it be fair to say there is a BIGGER culture problem?

I think the easiest way to point out how rap has an overall negativity problem is how rap bars used to be:

    “WE getting money”

Then around the early 2000s it became
    “I’M rich”

    Now since about 2015, it’s
    “YOURE broke”

Like even in the basic diction rappers now use you can see a negative culture shift

Let’s talk about why people call someone like Cudi white people music but praise generic trash like quando rondo

Tyler the creator basically explained why

Bruh u keep making straw man arguments I’m tryna have a genuine discussion. If you not gonna open your mind and form a cohesive stance then please leave the thread. Tryna have serious discussion about my people’s culture rn

  • Mar 8, 2020

Now that's not to say the culture itself doesn't have problems but that's more of a internal issue that needs to be have with BLACKS only

    Not cacs

Remember Kanye vs 50 cent? The ultimate street rapper vs the backpack wearing pink polo nigga. Guess who won? Rap is not what it was.

Another great example is how dudes like Pharrell and CUDI used to be celebrated as pioneers now you’d be hard pressed to start a discussion about them (and Tyler) without someone bringing up the words gay or coon

    What’d he say

Actually nvm I’m thinking of something else.

Edit: But I think it’s because Cudi is more genre bending and is “safer” for more white people to get into as opposed to somone like quando rondo.

what about the culture are you discussing

Why rap music (a tool that black people once used to express stories about life love pain and heartbreak) has been turned into a modern minstrel show that basically amounts to “Who can buy the biggest chain”
