nobody with any self-respect should be following these accounts anymore. they've shown their true intentions plenty of times now. they are propaganda accounts masquerading around as being a "voice of the culture".

And it’s not just hip hop pages, even regular meme pages been doin this

man its f***in weird how many accounts shifted rhetorically all of a sudden

i wonder if they're getting paid for it by someone else or they're doing it because its what gets the most clicks and engagement by causing a fervor and therefore making money off that or if the admins actually believe it

i suspect its a natural progression of most public hobby pages that itself stems from 'on the ground' politics playing a marginal role in a lot of peoples lives and the desire to find an apolitical space for their interests. add to that a resurgence of identity politics which is like a total opposite of that (as in it has to be forced upon every single thing around people which causes natural aversion) and this is the result: reactionary narratives that are indistinguishable from your regular cycle of fear perpetuated by more regular media outlets ie news

I think both could be true, popular music twitter accounts definitely get paid to post music stuff so logic would follow as long as somebody wants to promote something, these pages are open for business

but yeah at the same time it drives engagement as well and makes money that way too
