Jan 18, 2020I lying here on a nice Saturday morning, pretty sauced tbh but it was a long week so f*** it. Anyway, I was thinking last morning about how humanity has progressed so fast technologically yet evolution itself moves extremely slowly. Like everything we rely on to power the modern world is the product of a relatively tiny group of super geniuses, who were nice enough to write the logic behind their inventions down so that people could even comprehend what they made.
Considering both groups, the inventors and the engineering physics math genetics cell biology comp sci etc. students who learned from the inventors, u have less than 1% of people on Earth. Yet we truly rely on their knowledge for everything. We all know if a massive solar flare or polar reversal happened to randomly occur and all electronics became defective that we would be completely f***ed. It would be man against man not man against nature because we've essentially killed all life already. What I'm saying is because technology has evolved so fast to allow people to do whatever we want, while our intelligence and biology is essentially the same as it was when Hitler was alive and slavery existed, aren't we just a bunch of monkeys with laser guns? Like this s*** is mad depressing. Are we ready for the power we've assumed? How do we manage in an era where the Earth is basically our b**** and were telling scientists to shut the f*** up about policy while we trash the f*** outta our only planet?

I guess my main idea is we have progressed so far technologically but not as a whole intellectually. This is still happening b.c. it only takes a few rly smart ppl to make things that anyone could use and like u said we might have gene editing technology in the near future which could allow ppl to make rly irresponsible decisions with that technology. Plus u have ppl like Trump and Putin in charge of nuclear arsenals. There r benefits from this advancement but I'm worried that over time we won't be able to handle the responsibility of managing a highly technologically advanced society.

Ppl always want to blame the Illuminati for our problems when in reality the chaos we live in is an emergent property of a system suffering from the dissonance between those inclined towards science/engineering and everyone else.
