EwingSummer of Soul is a documentary. Why on earth are you comparing it to Licorice Pizza? That's like saying "Go f*** yourself if you think Lionel Messi is a better player than Lebron James!"
King Richard is a heavy biopic drama that's a vehicle for Will Smith. Who on earth is comparing it to Licorice Pizza? The filmmaking is what people are praising about Licorice Pizza. I don't even think the director of King Richard has ever been mentioned when people talk about it.
Also, how are the characters in Licorice Pizza "white trash?" They're from one of the most famous suburbs in American pop culture, the Valley. It's as middle class as you can get.

Honestly the only film released this year that I think people are going way overboard with is Dune. And I really liked Dune.
But Jesus Christ, Denis is legit starting to hit Dark Knight-Inception era Nolan levels with how much people are just all over him.
