this is his most accessible movie that I’ve seen
don’t think op knows what pretentious means, which is weird cuz he has a willow smith avy
Summer of Soul is a documentary. Why on earth are you comparing it to Licorice Pizza? That's like saying "Go f*** yourself if you think Lionel Messi is a better player than Lebron James!"
King Richard is a heavy biopic drama that's a vehicle for Will Smith. Who on earth is comparing it to Licorice Pizza? The filmmaking is what people are praising about Licorice Pizza. I don't even think the director of King Richard has ever been mentioned when people talk about it.
Also, how are the characters in Licorice Pizza "white trash?" They're from one of the most famous suburbs in American pop culture, the Valley. It's as middle class as you can get.
What are you even talking about?
this lol ppl wildin out about this movie
I like all 3 movies you mentioned in OP (all in my top 10 of 2021)
And I majorly disagree with Licorice Pizza being pretentious
The entire discourse around the Film has been annoying as f***
A lot of the “film twiiter/Letterboxd core” crowd just want movies that spoonfeed everything to them including how to feel
like “hey this film has a message and now the main actor is gonna deliver a 3 minute monologue explaining everything to you”
I haven’t seen king Richard but it looks like a movie you see in school in your bullshit class similar to radio and remember the Titans
pretentious white trash
only having a certain flavor of mountain dew in your trailer, refusing to date your first cousin, or only watching NASCAR on a color TV
I haven’t seen king Richard but it looks like a movie you see in school in your bullshit class similar to radio and remember the Titans
It’s a very by the books biopic, but it’s a crowd pleaser
but wasn’t King Richard a watered down sugarcoated Disneyfied version of what actually happened
havent seen any of these movies but ill disagree with op just because of how cringe his delivery was
Or just like, enjoy whichever movie you like and let people enjoy what they like because it's got nothing to do with you?
Feels like you fought with a tinder date about this lmao

radio
forgot that one was a thing lmfao
havent seen Licorice Pizza yet but Ladybird is one of the most boring lame movies ive ever seen
Damn, did you just find out PTA lied about going out for cigarettes when he left you and your momma?
but wasn’t King Richard a watered down sugarcoated Disneyfied version of what actually happened
What biopic isn’t though?
havent seen any of these movies but ill disagree with op just because of how cringe his delivery was
Honestly the only film released this year that I think people are going way overboard with is Dune. And I really liked Dune.
But Jesus Christ, Denis is legit starting to hit Dark Knight-Inception era Nolan levels with how much people are just all over him.
“ coming of age “ euphoria , pen15, big mouth , letting James Gunn get right back to work
Pedo agenda way too prevalent in media lately

There’s no way this is true ☠️ maybe on Twitter but not generally, unless you mean critics?
