I'm gonna be real man, most people start having s***as teenagers and wanting to have s***is a big part of life at that age, I didn't know the Euphoria characters were meant to be teens, which is pretty sus considering how they're shown, but narratives about teen life that revolve around s***have been around forever, I don't see anyone keeping this same energy for American Pie or Superbad for example

I think it's weird to sexualise actual teen actors in the way that shows like Skins used to do, so if anything it's better to cast adults, but there's no 'agenda' at play at all, it's just the same old thing of media being made about h**** teens because people have nostalgic memories about being a teenager, it's just the internet in recent years has made people more paranoid about stuff, the whole 'Big Mouth normalises pedo stuff' and 'Wayfair are trafficking children' come from the same place

Now there are definitely some freaks out there, Dan Schneider should be in jail and it scares me to think of the level of protection he must have to be a free man, the industry is crawling with abusers for sure, but there isn't an organised drive towards normalising pedos in media, this could never become mainstream, the few articles that actually attempt it from those Prostasia freaks get ratio'd into oblivion, and Licorice Pizza especially is not a 'pedo agenda' movie, do you think PTA sat down and thought 'Hmm, gonna normalise pedos with this one'?

I just checked man and Sweeney's character is meant to be 18, she's 24 IRL too, it's nothing particularly crazy tbh

What gets me is something like South Park, which has actual children talking about s***constantly and doing all kinds of horrific stuff, like the episode where Cartman gives Butters a BJ while he's sleeping, or that scene in The Simpsons Movie, are all recognised as being in the name of comedy, but something like Big Mouth, which I'm no big fan of (I hate Nick Kroll) is somehow a subliminal pedo show

I legit think the internet has turned people into the same outraged parents who protested South Park when it started, but from the opposite angle, it's not that people shouldn't see this content because it's shocking and offensive, but because it's trying to turn viewers into pedo sympathisers and program them into accepting it, it's just nonsense to me
