Yes 5-10k in fees way cheaper than an uber or calling a buddy or taking the bus etc
Im not saying driving s***faced is ok
If ur so drunk its obvious u shouldnt be driving
BUT s*** happens where people maoe mistakes and i dont think the penalties should be so severe except for extreme situations

Driving drunk isn’t just a “whoops i made an oopsie”
It kills innocent people every single day and is one of the most selfish decisions you can make
Anyone who gets a DUI is obviously a loser with no self control and deserves severe punishment

what if you blacked out and don't even realize the decision.. it happens
what if you blacked out and don't even realize the decision.. it happens
Drinking in excess to the point where you genuinely cannot control yourself doesn’t resolve you of any guilt and probably makes you more of a pathetic loser tbh
I’ve gotten pretty drunk but never to the point of losing control and finding myself behind the wheel, but I also have self control so idk

drink resposibly
cmon bruh
Been there done that fam. Also what state are you in, 12k is insane. It’s like a 3 month class and like 2k in fees here.
I was a young dumb teenager
I’m in California too and a couple of my Mexican friends got DUIs but I think they got offered programs and s*** to make it a little better
You from sac?
life after a IUD
i keep reading the title as this

It’s a young stupid mistake I made at 18 going out to college parties for the first time. Never again tho. Now that I’m older I realize it’s stupid behavior
My uncle got like 5 DUI’s in 15 years.
Now he owns 3 houses.
That's crazy.. Were they all in the same state? I'm asking because I went to jail once in Texas and one of the guys there had his 3rd DUI and accepted a plea deal for 5 years in prison. Did your uncle do any jail time at all?
I've never gotten one and won't. If I know I'm getting s*** faced I either stay at home/ friends place, Uber home or have a DD.
U should have more compassion for the reasons people become alcoholics
Being an alcoholic is your business but don't get behind the wheel and put everyone else at risk

I see what you're saying like if the person is bad at it
Outside of that it sounds pretty judgmental

I know he spent nights in jail but I don’t believe anything beyond that, and yeah all in the same state.
Worth noting tho that these all happened in the 70s and 80s and they were a lot more lenient with DUI’s then.
By the time I was born he had long gotten his s*** together.

If there was a silver lining, I gave up drinking. My life completely changed for the better. A lot of my life was centered drinking on weekends. I also would spend on guy vacations and party. I pass on those trips and drinking on the weekends. Feels so good not to drink. I only owe 1k from the dui, finally off probation. It’s almost behind me

Take it easy brother...we all have different tolerances. It's not fair to just have a single measure of "intoxication" for everyone. When you've been doing this for as long as I have .08 is nothing. That's breakfast 😂

Powerful. Glad you got yourself on a better path before it was too late brother.
My 2nd DUI I blew a .15, I strutted out of the birdcage after posting bail, went down to the park, and knocked off two cats in a row in chess. Lot of people cant' do that "sober".
got my first DUI back in the day while playing a game of Chinese fire drill with some cats and a couple dolls after we left the passion pit. Unfortunate thing was I was hopping out of the passenger seat hopping into the driver seat. If it werent for that darn game i wouldve been cool as a cucumber.
Had a couple slip ups since then but life still all good. Dont sweat it too much. Cant let stuff like this keep you from enjoying life. The law man might not like it but for better or worse there aint nothin better than having one hand on the steering wheel and a tequlia sunrise in the other. Peace
What the heck is Chinese fire drill

Get back on the wagon brothrr
My coworker got a dui and they made that dude sit and Listen to families of victims of dui guilt trip them

Okay, the fact that this happened so long ago makes sense as to why he didn't face any serious punishment. I'm glade to hear he has cleaned up now.
