It feels like I have to constantly be on guard to defend my life and my ppl/ my loved ones from the world and external forces out of my control. Theres so much BS and negativity out here in the world and the world is apathetic when s*** happens. Most people won’t truly give a s*** about you or what you’re going through. That isn’t to say that some people can’t but generally speaking, most people won’t. I don’t want to die or anything just feels like I’m constantly at odds with the world and always have to be on the defensive and anticipate negative events happening.

I feel like you can’t truly be yourself in this world without power and resources either because realistically, the more resources or money you have, the more you can do and generally the better you live. The more your can defend your life instead of being a bystander to whatever happens. Some things theres no way of influencing but if you have enough money you can influence most things in your life. People can’t help but respect or acknowledge how you make things happen when you have power/wealth, even if they don’t like you. There will always be haters though.

Physical health and assets/resources (a form of power) are everything in this life. Power is everything. Without the means to externalize your desires or will, it’s much harder to live to your fullest. To do everything you truly want to do.
This life is short and I feel like a lot of people live suppressed lives. Can’t truly be themselves. Don’t truly achieve their goals or aspirations.

I feel the same OP, I try to avoid the news altogether these days because it's so draining and disheartening seeing how bad it's gotten.

IDK if it is just exposure to actually knowing how it is out there, and that it's always been this way but mass media wasn't as accessible, but it just seems so bad these days, everyday its something now.

Just sad really....and idk how much worse it can get in the next 50 years or so

nah everything is fine, theres nothing to worry about and even if there is its prob your own making. no systematic and preventable problems here in your and anyone else's lives

Well, you can't exactly stay off the grid or on the sidelines, but most importantly, you can't control everything that happens. You just gotta deal with the bullshit as it comes, and protect your people in the best way you can. Leave the rest to God.

Yes the world is f***ed up, I got family that died and was exiled due to one of the worst genocides less than 30 years ago. But at the same time, life as it stands today for me and mine is good, but I also have Palestinian friends that I plan on protesting with. Both things can be true, I like to focus on the positive

The thing about power/wealth is that people who achieve them don't say "that's enough" and "I'm satisfied". You're chasing a ghost. There will always be more you don't have. You can feel insecure about walking down the street or about your private island compound which you're readying for when the ice caps melt. It's either rent or next quarter's profits. The anxiety scales.
