Depending on your state you could get that for free. In my state it's pretty widespread if you're low income, then of course loans which aren't as scary as you might think if you just study the right thing / go for high demand careers

Trades are possible to be successful with as well depending on what you look into. I know a few well off plumbers

it depends on what you would rather have really. I didn't like trades but a lot of people like that directions more. Its not uncommon for people to get a useless degree (or no degree) then just learn IT/coding type stuff and make bank. If you are going into college just be super informed on the major you choose and try to have an end game career goal in mind, or at least know the job field you aim for asap. job security/entry to field rates are important to look at
