Streaming is such a cheat code. Niggas be talking about Michael Jackson never charted 25 songs on the BB100 at once but forget that in order for a song to chart back then, it HAD to be released as an actual single.

The album themselves are also bloated full of filler to get these “records” too.

Absolutely. The only reason why the album is 23 songs and the same reason why Drake has been putting 20+ songs on every album from Views to CLB is to dominate the chart. Feel like you can't compare this era to that era because people had to buy music back then.

I disagree to a degree. Baby is popular so he has a bigger fanbase plus casual fans (like myself) who will give him a listen. Many hip hop artists don't get that benefit. If I listen to Denzel or Saba or Westside Boogie they only get their core to stream but its only so many times you can stream an album before it counts on BB of them.

I think thats more a problem of how billboard counts it more than anything

Smaller artists has less streams, but they still have and that represents how many people are listening. And in Hip Hop almost no one selling physicals like crazy, so the straming sales are not that bad of a metric
