very false at this point
Roddy got #1 records and is a popstar. Didnt the nigga beat justin bieber
something uncomfortably catatonic about those people who aspire to be "the business man jay z is" and tell people "I like the way you think" when they try to force this lil baby roady Ricch lil uzi is a superstar narrative thing
Baby fans want him to fill that traditional rap superstar spot so bad
Hard to say he isn't filling that spot right now tbh
Grammy performance, triple platinum album, smash singles, how is he not a superstar right now is a better question

Baby is a star but he's not on that traditional rap superstar level. Think drake, ye, kendrick, cole, hov, wayne, ti, 50, etc when they were popping
I do and the box is bigger than every song baby made
That’s true but baby has a much bigger album that spawned more hits and has like 5 songs in constant radio rotation as opposed to roddys 2

I'll challenge that.
Hov, Drake, Kendrick level no. But to me that isn't the only bar to measure when talking about superstars in Hip-Hop
Anyone who can go triple platinum in a year w/smash singles is a superstar right now.
You don't need to be Drake or Ye level to accomplish that.

Roddy’s album was huge too and I would argue more people are familiar with his songs than baby’s. It’s safe to say they’re at the same level of supe om. Same with dababy
ill post grammy performance when mix out but hes def beating Roddy rin the race to be first new superstar
I think Roddy still above Lil Baby just based on the fact The Box was #1 for a while last year. S*** was just chillin at the top.
I'll challenge that.

I mean i feel like the definition of superstars in rap has changed. Which is why I refer to the one I'm talking bout as the traditional rap superstar. Baby is a superstar in this climate forsure.
But I been peeping a lot of his stans tryna put him on a level of that traditional model of a rap superstar. Hence the wayne comparisons and the drake successor narratives. I just think people are fiending for another superstar on that level

I mean he's clearlyyyy not on the Drake/Hov/Wayne level of supe om.
But My Turn is 3x platinum and a top 10 selling album of 2021 right now.
He's on the #2 song in the country right now, he's got hits galore lowkey,
I think it's fair to say he's a bonafide star. I actually wouldn't call him a superstar simply because he needs at least another year like the one he had in 2020 but his trajectory certainly points towards that.
omg ur back!!
