And Stevie was an incredible songwriter, writing most of his big albums himself and a good musician/vocalist too.

that doesn't mean they're winning. ask a random person on the street to name 5 MJ songs, 5 R Kelly songs and 5 Prince songs. All different ethnicities from different places, male and female and more people will come up with more MJ songs than the other two.
